Seasonal Epsom Salt Potpourri: 5 Botanical Styling Ideas
Updated: Oct 21
Change the colours and dried botanicals with the seasons rather than making a new all-purpose recipe each time. These are decorative combinations for a small dry display. For optional added fragrance, follow the product supplier’s suitability and dosage guidance.

1. Spring petals
Dried rose petals and lavender with a little fully dried mint create a soft floral look. Leave fresh mint and fresh blossom out of stored mixtures.
2. Summer citrus
Combine dried calendula petals with fully dried orange peel. A bright yellow-and-orange palette provides the seasonal effect without adding wet fruit or colourants.
3. Autumn spice
Dried citrus peel, broken cinnamon sticks and a few whole cloves create a warm-looking display. Extra fragrance is optional; this is not a recipe for heating.
4. Winter herbs
Use fully dried rosemary with orange peel and star anise. Avoid unidentified evergreen cuttings and wet berries. A suitable fragrance can suggest woodland notes without adding unknown plants.
5. Late-summer flowers
Dried chamomile and rose petals with a few cardamom pods offer a softer transition into autumn. Check flower heads are completely dry before combining them with the crystals.
Storage and intended use
Keep blends dry, labelled and away from children and pets. Do not use them in the bath, on skin, in food or in a simmer pot. There is no universal scent lifespan; refresh according to the fragrance instructions and discard damp or mouldy material.
